I started my working life in a well-known pub group when I was 15. I was employed as a kitchen porter, but quickly got bored of this and moved to front of house where I worked as a food runner & bar back for a bit. From there I moved into branded restaurants, starting working weekends refilling a well-known salad bar, whilst at university studying computer science, and worked my way up through the business quickly all the way up to AGM. I stayed in the business for just over 10 years and learnt a lot along the way! After working in branded restaurants, I took a 3-week break from hospitality to try something different and hated it, so went straight back into it!
From here I moved into retail management for 3 years for a high street department store, mainly to get my evenings back due to a new addition to the family. After this I wanted to get back into hospitality so took a role as part of the opening management team for a massive restaurant in Heathrow airport loved everything about the job …. Except for waking up at 2:30am for work! Stuck it out for a year and a half and then decided to go back to the high street as an area manager. Did that for 2 years and decided to make the move into recruitment! I have been doing this since 2017 and it was defiantly the right move! I look after the back of house business here in London, alongside my colleague who is also called Aaron!
