Central London Event Venue
One of the biggest, most versatile event venues in Central London. They host a vast array of awards ceremonies, trade shows, conferences, weddings, product launches and a very busy Christmas run.
In 2018 the client had grown unhappy with their current supplier and was looking to make a change and sign a 5 year partnership with a new agency. They were not only looking to build a team of regulars for different types of events, including trained Baristas, Bar Staff and Waiting Staff, but were looking for a staffing partner who would act as their whole staffing function. Total staff on site in one day could top out at over 200 during Christmas and this could be over as many as 10 different events.
We took over in August 2018 and immediately started a recruitment campaign focused purely on their venue. These would be “Their Staff” not Appetite4Work. We ran induction sessions daily throughout the whole of the next 3 months to slowly build a team to cope with the busy Christmas party season. In tandem with the venue, we held tailored training for Barista and Bar Staff and started to build teams for each event manager.
After that initial bedding in period, we have continued to innovate, and we are always looking for ways to improve the recruitment process and have just introduced a tailored training module. We have also ensured that the pay rate for our “regulars” mirrors that of the Brewery’s own staff. We are there at every event on site to check in the staff, ensure uniform is on point and staff make their way to the right areas.
After a successful first 5 years we have now signed a new 5-year contract and have a consistent and reliable team of staff to fill their bookings and a very close relationship. We have also extended the contract to include Chefs and Porters.
